1. What The Telly is

The Telly is a media player application for Android TV, Google TV and Amazon Fire TV. It reads standard IPTV formats — Xtream Codes API, Stalker Portal, M3U playlists and XMLTV guide data — from a server address that you enter.

It ships with no channel list, no playlist, no default provider and no content of any kind. We do not operate, own, host, index, curate, resell or endorse any television service, and we have no affiliation with any IPTV provider.

2. Your responsibilities

By using the app you confirm that:

• You have the right to access whatever service you connect the app to.
• You will comply with your provider's terms and with the law where you live, including copyright law.
• You are solely responsible for the content you access through the app, and for any consequences of doing so.
• You will not use the app to infringe anyone's rights.

We cannot see, and do not control, what you connect the app to. If you use it to access a service you are not entitled to, that is your act and your liability, not ours.

3. Content is your provider's, not ours

Everything you see in the app — channels, films, series, artwork, programme descriptions — comes from the service you configured. We make no representation about its availability, legality, accuracy or quality, and we cannot fix, restore or refund it. If a stream is down, a catalogue is wrong or artwork is missing, that is between you and your provider.

4. Voluntary support

Every feature of the app is free. Nothing to do with watching — channels, guide, search, recordings, timeshift, profiles — is behind a payment, and supporting the app is optional. The Support screen offers one-time contributions in several amounts through the store you installed the app from — Google Play or the Amazon Appstore — each of which may be given as often as you like, and a recurring monthly option.

What support unlocks is cosmetic, and only that: extra colour themes in Settings ▸ Themes.

• Any contribution, one-time or monthly, unlocks the Green and Pink themes for good: nothing removes them, and keeping them does not depend on contributing again.
• The monthly subscription additionally unlocks the Gold theme for as long as the subscription is active.
• If the subscription is cancelled or lapses, only Gold ends. Green and Pink remain yours, including for anyone who ever subscribed. If Gold was in use when the subscription ended, the app returns to its default theme; if you subscribe again, your Gold selection comes back.

The one-time contributions are consumable products. That is what allows any amount to be given more than once — there is no once-per-account limit. The unlock above is recorded on your device. On the Amazon Appstore the app can also read past contributions back from your Amazon purchase history, so a reinstall or a new Fire TV signed in to the same account recovers it. Google Play does not keep a completed one-time contribution on file for the app to read back later, so there the unlock survives a move to a new device or a reinstall only if Android's backup of the app's data is restored along with it, or if a monthly subscription is running. Either way, the themes can be unlocked again by any further contribution, of any amount. Beyond the themes above, contributions carry no promise of any feature, support level or continued availability, and are not a licence to any content.

Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, depending on where you installed the app, and are governed by that store's terms. Refunds are handled under that store's refund policy. A monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time from your Google Play subscriptions or your Amazon account's subscriptions, and cancelling stops future charges rather than refunding past ones.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with your device, or that it will work with any particular provider.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, recordings, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time. We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address, with the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

8. Community

Our Discord server has its own rules, enforced there. Chief among them: sharing playlists, provider credentials, reseller links or any means of accessing content is prohibited, and doing so will get you removed.
